Insights and Reminders from the editor
Insights
Both as a player and an editor, I've fielded numerous inquiries of this nature.
Isn't this a free-to-play server? Why are they taking donations in exchange for Blood Lumen/Jaden and VIP rewards?
Maintaining a stable server requires significant investment in hardware, hosting, bandwidth, and DDoS protection.
Providing donators access to Jaden Mall and Premium Rewards—isn't that considered a pay-to-win server?
The topic of donations is a perennial debate among players. Voluntary contributions from those who simply wish to show gratitude are often insufficient to cover server costs. To secure the necessary funding, in-game incentives become essential. However, I do believe that Lumen server(s) enforces strict policies to ensure these premium rewards remain within a generally acceptable range and will not cross into game-breaking territory.
Reminders
- Donation / VIP is optional
- This support is what keeps our world online and running smoothly
- Premium items are available to all players. While VIPs get instant access, others can earn them through dedicated gameplay
- Not everyone can contribute financially and that's okay! There are still other meaningful ways to show your support:
- Promoting the server and inviting friends.
- Being a positive and helpful member in the community.
- Reporting bugs and providing constructive feedback.
- Creating fan art, videos, or guides. (Join me in Lumenpedia for example)
Always remember that donations are just one way to help. Your time and positivity are equally valuable to our community.
